Some Changes?

Word from Jon Browne is that Henri's may be changing hands or closing, so it looks like our gigs there are - at least for now - canceled. That leaves us strictly with:

  • September 12/13: Regent, Longview, Washington

Will keep you posted if/when things change.

    New Schedule

Okay, the "biker ralley" turns out not to be a biker ralley at all, but rather the Pe Ell "Pork, Pie, and Polish Daze." Heh. There will be some bike exhibition of some kind (Goldwings, I think), but it's a family affair so you're all invited. :)

Anyway, here's the current schedule, I think:

  • August 2, 8:00 pm: Pork, Pie, Polish Daze, Pe Ell, Washington (Street Dance)
  • August 29/30: Henri's, Longview, Washington
  • September 12/13: Regent, Longview, Washington
  • September 26/27: Henrie's, Longview, Washington
  • Thursday, July 10, 2008

    Summertime...

I know you're all waiting with baited breath, but unfortunately we won't be playing at the Regent through the summer. The owners have decided not to have any bands at all during the summer months, because it's just not financially feasible.

So instead we took a coupld gigs at Henri's (4545 Ocean Beach Highway, Longview) and we have a wedding reception this month as well. We're also playing in Pe Ell, Washington for a biker ralley. I don't have specifics on this one, but will try to get it here soon. So here's a look ahead to Summer 2008:

  • July 26: Wedding Reception, Longview

  • August 1/2: Biker Ralley, Pe Ell

  • August 29/30: Henri's, Longview

  • September 10/11: Henri's, Longview

  • I suppose I should put these on the "Performance Dates" page.

    Eventually.

    Weekend Recap

It was a good weekend for the band, with no train wrecks on stage and only a few minor "what the heck was I thinking?" moments. Mostly from me.

The return of the Red Hot Chili Peppers Dani California was greeted by some good reviews including one audience member that stated he was a big RHCP fan and that we were especially "tight" in doing the cover. He was back again on Saturday and reiterated his praise of the song.

Likewise, the debut of Cheap Trick's Surrender was especially fortuitous. An EMT friend of mine showed up for the first time and specifically asked if we did any Cheap Trick. Curiously enough, we do... now. :)

On a personal note, Duke only hit me a couple times with thrown sticks for playing country music licks in the middle of Mustang Sally and none of them landed squarely. Apparently he's much better at hitting drumheads with them than moving targets across the stage...

All in all it was a great show. Our next gig is in mid-July for a private wedding reception of an old classmate of mine. Then we're back at the Regent in August. Specific date and time to follow!

    www.noprinciples.com

Welcome to the new No Principles web site!

Established in May 2008, this new site will provide information about the classic rock band No Principles, based in Southwest Washington and will include performance dates, set lists, behind-the-scenes updates, bios of band members, and more.

For the moment, however, the only thing to see is this new weekly blog. More information is forthcoming, and additional features will be added as time permits.

In the meantime, drop by The Regent (formerly, The Woodshed) at 3353 Washington Way, Longview, Washington this coming Friday and Saturday night (June 6/7) and hear the band's latest performances! We'll be resurrecting some old songs not heard for nearly a year (Rock the Casbah, Dani California) as well as adding one or two new numbers to the set list (Rhiannon, Surrender).

Performances start at 8:45 pm each night. Hope to see you there!
